POOL MANAGER: We would like to announce and welcome our new Pool Manager, Stephanie Pandolfo. Stephanie and her family have been members of WS&TC for the past 8 seasons. She comes to us with a background in corporate marketing and office management, basic life support and CPR training. She will run the daily operations of the club, manage the front desk, lifeguards, and snack bar staff. Her plans are to make WS&TC a fun filled active club with many activities for you and your family to enjoy. Stephanie will be reaching out to you over the next several weeks to introduce herself. We are looking forward to Stephanie showing her passion for the Club and its Members.
HEAD SWIM TEAM COACH AND SWIM TEAM ADMINISTRATOR: We are also pleased to introduce Alex Snegour as our new Head Swim Team Coach and his wife, Tatiana Snegour, as our Swim Team Administer. Both Alex and Tatiana have been teaching group lessons, private lessons, and Master Swim at our indoor facility, Westfit, for the past three years. In addition to teaching lessons at WestFit, Alex and Tatiana also run a USA swim team, Scorpion Swim Club, out of Watertown, MA. Alex and Tatiana will be operating a satellite USA Scorpion Swim Club team out of Westfit beginning in October 2017.
In addition to Alex and Tatiana, we will be inviting back all of our 2017 Assistant Coaches to help Alex with the swim team coaching. Together they will all make a tremendous coaching team.
ALEX’S SWIMMING AND COACHING CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Alex is a former member of the Junior National Swimming Team in Russia. He received his Master Degree in Physical Education, Coach of Swimming, as well as a PHD degree in Sport’s Psychology from the Moscow Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, Russia.
He coached for the School of the Olympic reserve in Moscow and then worked as an assistant professor of physical education at the Institute of International Relations in addition to being the head coach of the Institute’s Swimming Team.
During his 20+ year coaching career in the USA, Alex produced National level swimmers while working as a swim coach for numerous USA swimming teams in New England (Pirates, Diversified Aquatics, New England Barracudas, Bernal’s Gators). He’s been invited to many swimming clinics and workshops as a guest speaker. Currently, he is also a coach of the Waltham Masters Swim Team, which placed 2nd in 2014 and 1st in 2015 at the New England SCM Championships. Along with the impressive swimming resume Alex has been the Head Coach of the Wedgewood Club in the Colonial League for the past three seasons.
TATIANA’S SWIMMING CAREER HIGHLIGTS AND BACKGROUND: Tatiana is a former member of the National Synchronized Swimming Team for Russia, 7 time winner at the National Championships in the
solo, duet, and team events, medal holder at many international competitions. She received her Master in Physical Education from the Moscow Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, Russia.
After her athletic career she coached the National Synchronized Swimming Team and produced an Olympic Champion. In the USA she founded a synchronized swimming team, the Aqua Divas, which produced many National Champions in the Age Group, Junior and Masters divisions (Silver Medalist at the World Championships). She also coached competitive swimmers at the New England Diversified Aquatics USA Swimming Club as well as taught swim lessons. Later she worked as an Aquatics Manager for Health Point Fitness Club and Boston Sports Clubs while continuing to be involved in coaching competitive USA swim teams. Along with her husband Alex she founded Scorpion Swimming Club and continues to enjoy coaching and teaching swimming.
